Having more data can provide more insights; however, it can also bring up challenges like needing sufficient and scalable infrastructure and tools to handle large and diverse data sets, effective and efficient methods to combine and summarize data from different sources and formats, as well as suitable and user-friendly techniques to present and communicate your data analysis results.

3 Data analysis methods

Depending on your equipment and objectives, your goals can vary, such as performance, reliability, maintenance, and repair. To define and align your data analysis goals, you need to identify and prioritize equipment and operational challenges, formulate SMART data analysis questions or hypotheses, select and apply the most suitable methods for your questions or hypotheses, and evaluate and communicate the results and recommendations. Data analysis goals define what you want to achieve, measure, improve, or solve with your data.
