What are the key components of a learner-centered educational program?

Of course I say yes for such democracy and autonomy in education. But there exists some "extreme" variations of it, an entire programs, schools, where learning is based on the principle of working on a computer. A student comes to class and spends 100% of educational time on the computer. Is he/she independent? Yes. Is this education? I doubt it. I believe that the role of a teacher, a live person, is very important.

In an ideal world, it would be great for any group of learners (students, schoolchildren or college students, or even participants in short-term programs) to have such a helper-psychologist who would support the overall mood of the group and each individual. This would be beneficial for all parties involved: students, main educators, and the reputation of the educational institution. Learner psychological support is crucial in our times.

My approach to designing a learner-centered educational program is to always have prior information of who the learners are. This way we not only design with the learner in mind but also for the learner.
