Similarly, a producer needs to decide which sounds at any given moment are in the spotlight, in the background, or not to be heard at all. Practice and proficiency in the combination of levels, panning, compression, eq, space fx (reverb, delay), and the automation of these through parametric envelopes is critical to achieve professional results.

Dennoch gibt es zwischen Sounddesigern eine universelle Sprache und allgemeine Zustimmung, was gutes und schlechtes Sounddesign ist

Ja, Sounddesign ist irgendwo technisch, aber auch mindestens genau so künstlerisch. Klar ist es essentiell die Software und Hardware zu beherrschen. Aber wichtiger ist für mich das "was mache ich daraus". Jeder hat seine eigene St?rke und die gilt es herauszufinden. Macht man Sounddesign für Filme, Musik, Storytelling, Games oder VR? Sieht man sich eher in der technischen Implementierung oder Kreativen? Das gilt es herauszufinden für sich um im Wettbewerb bestehen zu k?nnen

Kommunikation ist wichtig, aber damit ist nicht nur gemeint, wie man mit einander umgeht und redet. Viel wichtiger auf dem Arbeitsmarkt ist auch die Kommunikation nach au?en. Wie verkauft man sich, was sind die eigenen Vertriebskan?le, wie kommuniziert man im Marketing und wie schafft man es aus der Vergleichbarkeit herauszutreten? Schnell ist dieses Wissen um Kundengewinnung und Netzwerken schnell als "wie gut kann ich einen Kompressor bedienen"

Ebenso wichtig ist ein gewisses Organisationstalent. Was nutzen Millionen von Soundeffekten auf der Festplatte, wenn man den passenden zur richtigen Zeit nicht finden kann? Es ist gut eine überblick zu haben aber noch viel wichtiger ist es eine gewisse Expertise aufzubauen. So steigen die Chance auf Folgeauftr?ge, wenn man einfach derjenige ist, der z.B. die besten Robotersounds liefern kann etc.

The best way to improve your skills as a sound designer is to commit to sounds. Open your ears (and your mind) to the everyday sounds. Actively listen what's around you. Make a habit to carry a recorder with you, and record any sounds that get your attention. Listen to those sounds later on, out of their natural context and experiment. Break the sound apart, alter its pitch, slow it down, or speed it up. Anything goes. The point here is to stimulate your curiosity and discover new sound textures. You might accumulate a ton a rubbish sounds, but out of the pile, you'll find some brilliant gems.

Being a sound designer is about loving what you do and having certain skills. You need to know audio equipment and editing programs, be creative, pay attention to detail, communicate well, solve problems, manage time, and have good ears to get the sounds just right.
