Project-based learning (PBL) is a powerful pedagogy that engages students in authentic, meaningful, and collaborative inquiry. PBL fosters deeper learning, 21st century skills, and student agency. But not all projects are created equal. How can you design a high-quality project-based learning task or challenge that sparks curiosity, creativity, and innovation? 1 Driving Question

A driving question is the heart of a PBL task or challenge. It should be open-ended, relevant, and challenging. It should capture the main purpose and focus of the project, and guide students to investigate a real-world problem or issue. A good driving question should also allow for multiple perspectives, solutions, and products.
