A common case of COI in educational institutions involves children of academic staff who are studying in the same institution. A specific case example would be a teacher having her son in her class. Presuming that this was unavoidable, how can we ensure the son will not gain any advantage in terms of assignment marks and confidential information on exam questions? A clear institutional policy is required in ensuring all possible angles of COI are identified, and the mechanisms for disclosure are properly enforced. In the given example, what should be done is to ensure the COI declaration is made before the school term begins, and, at the end of the term, all assessment submissions of the son are moderated through a double-blind process.

The most important in avoiding conflict of interest is to develop mutual TRUST. It is a long process but only permanent solution. The person should understand , he or she is complementing nor conflicting. For this a clear thought & action are required
