It's good to have at least two volunteers who can replace each other in case one person is sick or can not support interpretation during this day to ensure the permanent interpretation for volunteers who speak different languages. Another tip is to assist with interpretation not only during the volunteering process but in daily-life situations like supporting with documents, ordering the food, etc. It allows volunteers to feel comfortable and create an inclusive environment.

For two years now, Ukrainians and German-speaking Swiss have been helping us in our projects. English helps out)) From the very beginning we paid attention to the peculiarities of communications. It's not about language. It's about style and rules of communication. From my point of view, it has increased cultural understanding. Sometimes we joke to each other, “This is too Swiss! Are you sure that you have Ukraine pass?” or "Oh! You're acting like a Ukrainian! It`s virus!" I like my team, my volunteer family and am truly proud that we have been together for almost two years.
