We are an EMTALA urgent care. Our patients have a wide range of acuity levels. We have 2 or 3 RNs each 11 hour shift. They all have had years of emergency room, urgent, or critical care experience ranging from 6 to over 20 years with few having less than 10 years. Skills are updated at the site each 3 months. The retention and continuity contribute substantially to the practice environment. Patients and physicians see the RNs as top notch. Wish that this was marketed by the employer since so many urgent cares have gone the opposite way in continuity, experience, training levels...
