To become a successful transmission planning engineer, you need a combination of technical, analytical, and communication skills. A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, computer engineering, or a related field is essential. You should also be knowledgeable about transmission technologies, standards, protocols, and principles such as fiber optics, microwave, satellite, wireless, modulation, multiplexing, coding, encryption, and error correction. Additionally, proficiency in using transmission system design and analysis software tools and models such as Pathloss, OptiSystem, MATLAB or Python is necessary.
