Navigating the twists and turns of training and development, I've fine-tuned my communication skills to vibe with all sorts of folks, dug deep into data to spot the real game-changing gaps, and let the creative juices flow to cook up learning solutions that don't just teach but stick. It's not a journey of textbooks; it's a journey !!

In many organisations in this part of the world, Learning & Development is always "seen" as a cost centre and a "supplementary" department. The place to go to when you receive complaints; even when training isn't always the solution to all things. From my personal experience, the biggest challenge is to be able to be seen as value adding, contributing to revenue. Also leaders of organisations may fail to see L&D as a strategic role, and take it as an operational role. These are the very real challenges.

For me, the biggest resurfacing challenge that I have faced in 16+ years of L&D Management is blame. When someone is questioned about why they don't or can't do something they will often say they were never told or trained. This is why learning records and learning application assessments are so important.

Dont do training for the sake of training. Use it efficient,effective and get feedback to improve upon. Use Kirkpatrick or any other model for improvement. (As an example). Make it more practical,participative,enriching,and lively, so that takeaways will be fruitful. Training should be in such away that atleast if you implement the learning from the training across the organisation by means of instituitionalising by means of colloboration with the team is a great success to any organisation. Imbibe a culture of learning and learning organisation will always develop next level leaders.
