What does a martial arts instructor do?

So as physical training is important, so is the mental training and periodical assessment in that regards. Martial arts is a good practice to enhance one's self-defense, body flexibility, posture correction and mental awareness.

I was previously a martial arts instructor, primarily for women and children. I trained under my uncle/cousin Master Kang Rhee of Memphis and taught later in CA while attending college. I would say that a good martial arts instructor focuses on both the development of physical skills--technique, fitness, but maybe even more importantly, helps the student develop a particular mindset rooted in understanding the potential of the self. I focused prepping women to start to take a beginning class, because many women are not trained to be physically assertive. Women benefit from understanding their bodies in this way. For kids it's a great way to develop a sense of self that they can bring to any challenge.

The instructor cannot train the student in perspective of martial arts. He shall have the expertise to depict the best perspective of the student in martial arts and direct him to exploit that perspective.
