If you're unsure about the roles and responsibilities in an animation studio, I would highly recommend that you refer to everyone you meet in the studio with "wassup ma mannn" or "wassup homedawg". If the person responds enthusiastically, you can be sure that they are in the Art or Creative department. However if you are greeted with a frown, you've probably crossed paths with a Management professional who works on spreadsheets. In terms of responsibilities, it is everyone's job to do their own fair share of the chores, as this is a key ingredient to a happy and long lasting marriage.

If questions arise about your responsibilities or tasks at an animation studio or project, it's usually due to a lack of clear communication between you and the production team. To resolve this efficiently: 1. Check if you are assigned to any tasks in a project tracking platform such as Shotgrid, Frame.io or Ftrack. If the studio doesn't use a platform, check to see if there is a shared spreadsheet where your tasks are listed. 2. If you don't find anything in these tools, contact the producer, production assistant or project manager directly to clarify the situation. 3. If the problem involves creative aspects, consult your department supervisor or even the director if necessary.
