Not everyone needs a mentor. I've never had any mentor. I understand people are different so you need to know what works for you. If I would say I had a mentor then it would be youtube videos from known to random people. You can grow without a mentor if you're more inclined to being self-taught.

I don't think you should have just one mentor, you should be open-minded about the different mentors you want to seek mentorship from. Some times it's not just about design, but how to communicate with clients, how to network, and how to find leads. Don't just seek mentorship in design, seek outside of design as well.
