There's many times you want to beat yourself up for not meeting a quota. You question and compare yourself to your partners that did reach their quota. The saying, "If you don't do it, someone else will", has never been threatening to me. In my mind that reads, "If they can do it, so can I". It is motivating and pushes me to challenge myself, because it is true. That would only seem threatening if I was not confident in my skill set. Confidence is a learned skill. I have done my own self-work on educating myself on Emotional Intelligence and Psychology of Sales to grow my skill set in order to remain positive and confident regardless of any influence of your buyer. You cannot make everyone like you but, you can make them respect you.
