Just like in a startup, venture capitalists need to be agile and adapt to market changes, but from the investor perspective. Here are some examples (using “we” as the VC industry) 1) Web3 investments slowed immensely over the last few years, but now the bitcoin bull run will improve the appetite for crypto startups as they will have better chance to raise subsequent rounds and increase valuation 2) We had to learn how to assess AI startups, and the right questions to ask. All this while OpenAI is continuously developing features which render some companies irrelevant. 3) We see all the startups we review using data to improve operations. Now we start to explore how to use data and automation for our own processes.

A very interesting and unique way I have found to deal with this is a 'distraction matrix'. It basically divides up your to-do's into categories by the amount of time they would take, viz. <5 mins, <1hr, >1hr. When you have anything that needs longer, break it down into 1 hr pieces, and apply some variation of pomodoro so you are still active and alert on the job. Combined with the Eisenhower matrix, you should be able to take out that to-do list from your brain and focus on manageable tasks now!
