If the product under test is actual physical product and not too fragile, I suggest handing it over to a child - the way a child uses it, you will definitely uncover lot many defects and also uncover different ways it could be used.:-) Brainstorm different ways to testing it.. Do reverse engineering! Rather than sticking to traditional and documented way of testing, concentrate more on negative tests and the grey areas where requirements may not be clear enough or where the data shared is very limited ..
