What do you do if you're an executive terrified of public speaking at trade shows?

What if you are not an executive? What does an executive have to do with the price of fish? Whether you are an executive or not (and shame on you for not being one), I feel the key to public speaking is confidence in your topic. Also, build in audience participation or something to break it up. This reduces the anxiety and will allow you breaks and time to regain your composure. Finally, everyone wants you to succeed so try not to feel the pressure....oh and make sure you start working towards becoming an executive....because this seems to be very important.

So there is an over-the-counter all natural option that many that are in public speaking turn to. It’s called Calms Forte. You take it an hour before your presentation and it just relaxes your nerves. You take one for the presentation. I take two if my in-laws are coming for a visit (just kidding) :)

a) Being a Missionary serving people before the speech: i) i would pray to my Creator and implore for his Help and Protection (against my weakness and any unknown and unforseen circumstances) ii) prepare thoroughly for the subject at hand b) While speeking: i) be precise and to the point if only using footnotes ii) if a written speech then avoid looking too much at the speech and engage more with the audience by explaining certain points in one or two sentences without looking at the speech. iii) smiling is a gift we should often use iv) speech should be inter-connected and coherent. v) Emotions are the way to connect with the audience. So a subtle spontaneous use of this way motivates the listener.

Sachez que vous n'êtes pas seul. Je me souviendrais toujours d'un salon où, sur un stand, j'ai demandé le directeur marketing. Une personne est allé le chercher dans un coin du stand, le directeur a écouté ce que disait son collègue, m'a regardée, puis est parti en courant. Véritable ! Il a pris ses jambes à son cou pour éviter de me parler. Au stand suivant, mon interlocuteur avait été témoin de cette scène et a été vraiment très gentil avec moi. Nous avons discuté, mon offre était intéressant pour son entreprise.. et là, c'était le début de plusieurs années de collaboration. Tout ?a pour dire, le pire peut arriver tout comme le mieux peut arriver, et vous ne le saurez que si vous vous jetez à l'eau.

Thorough preparation is the key, in my experience. If you're well-rehearsed on the topic and the related details you'll be sharing (especially if it's technical information), you can rely on the words in your mind that you've already planted there. I guess I picture it like a military serviceperson, police officer, or even an athlete (the latter being more my field of expertise), they train and drill and train and drill until the training sort of "takes over" when the lights are bright and normal human response is to clam up... you've got to plant seeds in your own mind, water them, nourish them, and then when they grow into thriving plants, the fruit is almost effortless.

Pour chaque slide, avoir une histoire à raconter. Une vraie histoire avec un début, un milieu et une fin. Les gens adorent des histoires et retiennent bien mieux les infos clé. De plus est, c'est plus facile pour vous de retenir les histoires et, du coup, vous n'aurez pas à lire, ni à trop vous concentrer pour savoir où vous en êtes. Quand vous répétez-- faites-le devant une glace. Cela vous habitue à parler devant le regard d'un autre (et nous savons tous que notre regard est le plus critique !)

When preparing to speak what does an individual think of first? For starters, how is my audience knowledge about the surrounding topic? When that goal is met with adequate amount of data move forward with organizing an introduction. A greatly thoughtful introduction should include, a greeting, a question or statement, then pieces to that idea. The body is then structured, that should include the data, charts, a dialogue that includes quotes, examples, and some statements. Conclude with a definite closing that gathers all the points and arguments needed to secure any ending questions and further conversation. Once you’re all done, practice in front the mirror or family and friend. Get feedback about your speak voice sound, and body stature.

Preparation is key, there is a way you understand your topic of decision that it boost your confidence. Preparation cannot be underrated. Go over your materials, ask questions from organizers and understand the theme. All these things add up to boost your confidence as a speaker and prepare you thoroughly.

Visual aid is essential. As much as preparedness is important, you don’t necessarily have to bombard your slides or PowerPoint presentations with lots of words and texts. Pictures and bullet points help. If you prepared well enough for the speaking engagement every image or bullet point will jug up a memory and an explicit interpretation behind your images and bulletpoint enduring a smooth run all through your speaking

Stand tall, keep your posture open, make eye contact, and use your hands to help make your points clear. Try to avoid actions like fidgeting or pacing back and forth, as these can show you’re nervous. By presenting yourself confidently through your body language, you can look confident to your audience, even if you're feeling a bit nervous inside. This can actually help you feel calmer as you speak, making your presentation smoother and more engaging.

Gesticulation, slow pacing and eye contacts is important It shows flexibility and helps the audience follow through your speaking engagement. You can take deep breaths before talking and in places where you want to capture attention , I practice one habit which is keeping quiet for max 5 seconds after getting the mic to make people focus on me before I talk and it works for me cos it commands attention alongside my body languages

I am not a public speaker! I always try to create audience interaction when speaking. This creates a conversation and relaxes you and the audience. You are still the expert on stage, you just changed the environment from a speech to a conversation. The audience q & a will drive the direction of the talk and ensure you are offering what the audience truly needs.

When practicing mindfulness, understand what that means to a boarder audience and not close relationships that may pass your jargon off easily without insult. Be respectful in your speech that you’re not racially sarcastic, do not make up jokes, and try not to appear silly, overly professional too that the audience do not relate to any of your language definitions. Also think of experiences that professional strengthen your outlook and future goals. Apply science and mathematics data that is accurate and trustworthy. It’s also helpful that the administrator ask for a survey before or after your speech. Mindfulness comes in different forms; be yourself and you should be just fine in offering your speech to multiple people.

While it can be rather difficult to remove the “butterflies” in your stomach, here are a few ideas to get them to fly in formation; Create a playlist of your favorite comics and listen to it prior to speaking. Hard to be nervous when you’re laughing. Hold a ceramic cup of warm coffee or tea. The warmth travels the nervous system and has a calming effect. Understand that adrenaline does evil sh@t like throw off your breathing and makes your voice either sound like Minnie Mouse or like you’re possessed like that kid in The Exorcist. All you need to do is focus on your breathing. Oh, and if you’re focused on your breathing, you’re not focused on being nervous. And stop giving a f@ck about what other people think of you!

When I first started presenting at board meetings as a Manager, I was terrified—stumbling over words that I would usually never miss, being less articulate than I would have hoped. The one thing that I remind myself of is that all these people are also just... people. They have families that are texting them in the middle of the meeting, friends that they're getting drinks with after work, mistakes that they make at their own jobs, etc. If I ran into them as a stranger at a coffee shop I would have no problem making small talk. Just because we're in a conference room doesn't mean we're not still all people. (But don't be too hard on yourself; it's easier said than actually put into practice).

Get to the venue early and mingle with audience members. Does mingling make you even more nervous than public speaking? Try this. Greet people like you are welcoming them to a party. Stick out your hand and say, “Thanks so much for coming to this talk. I’m _____, the speaker. (They’ll introduce themselves). Ask, “What are you hoping you’ll get out of this talk?” or “what brings you here today?” These short friendly interactions with real people, not your imagined “audience,” will help you feel like you’re talking to people you know. Your attendees will “warm up” to you before you even get to the podium.

You write down your thoughts. You get in the mirror and rehearse them, over and over and over. Get tired and do it again. So when you are public speaking, it becomes natural and you aren't overthinking anything. That's how you turn it into a conversation. You are sharing what you confidently know and have gone over countless times. . And you repeat that over and over, and forgive yourself when you make mistakes. The fear is irrational. Be confident.

In addition to the above, having a mentor is invaluable. You can pay for one, or find a Toastmaster who is willing to invest some time with you. We all have to practice Public Speaking at some point in our lives. Having someone who has gone before us always adds to both our confidence and our success.
