What do you do if you're a data engineer juggling continuing education and a full-time job?

Learn Learn and Learn. Previously we learn one technology and survive for years but in current scenario, it is always great to learn and keep exploring new things. Yesterday it was analytics, then machine learning then LLM-Gen Ai, Technology keep changing - tools also change but you need to be constant and keep learning. To have learning approach and research approach will never let you down. you should prioritise the learning and growth as well, its always good to have research mindset and learning approch throughtout the life. Its wisely said that - "Work hard to get what you love else you will be force to love what you get". So make promise to your self to learn learn n learn and keep growing till the time you will be top in town.

It is always better to discuss this with supervisors and manager, they may deploy you to a project where the work timings / shift can allow you to manage studies effectively. Set realistic goals and allocate dedicated study time, balancing it with work commitments effectively. Additionally, communicate with colleagues to explore opportunities for professional development support or flexible work arrangements that accommodate learning needs while ensuring productivity and success in both continuing education and job responsibilities.

Prioritizing your goals is key, especially when there's so much to learn and do. As a data engineer, it's smart to first figure out what will really boost your career. Maybe it's getting better at Python or Scala, or maybe diving deep into big data stuff like Hadoop or Spark is where it's at. Or perhaps, understanding those tricky machine learning algorithms is your golden ticket. Once you know what's most important, you can focus your time and energy just on those things. This way, you're not just learning a bunch of stuff; you're learning the right stuff that'll make a real difference in your career. So take a moment, sort out your priorities, and then dive in headfirst, knowing you're on the fastest path to leveling up your skills.
