Définir un objectif n'est pas simple. L'objectif doit être simple, pertinent, avoir du sens et surtout, être motivant pour pouvoir être atteint. L'objectif "zéro accident" est un objectif de perte car il est atteint tous les jours jusqu'au jour où... Et quand ce jour arrive, chaque membre de l'équipe est décontenancé, dépité car l'objectif est perdu. Il vaut mieux se définir un objectif pro-actif (nombre d'anomalies résolues par exemple) qui même s'il n'est pas atteint ne sera pas perdu car partiellement atteint. Savoir que l'on a réussi, même partiellement est encourageant et incite à faire encore mieux.
