1 Identify your innovation goals

The first step is to clarify what innovation means to you and why you want to pursue it. Em minha experiência com Mentoria em inova??o social, usamos o "Design Thinking" e, algumas vezes, a "Espinha de Peixe", quando estamos no brainstorming das ideias ainda. Comece por identificar com clareza seus objetivos de inova??o. Estabele?a metas tangíveis e alinhadas com a vis?o da empresa para direcionar esfor?os. Meu conselho: procure analisar como você pode agregar valor, seria para o desenvolvimento de um novo produto ou para melhorar os níveis de satisfa??o e experiência no atendimento ao cliente? Ent?o, depois de ter tido essa vis?o, procure seus aliados e trabalhe alinhando os objetivos da empresa, do departamento e os seus em mente. Basándome en lo que he vivido, sugiero que una vez que hayas definido tus metas de innovación, es crucial encontrar aliados dentro de tu empresa. La innovación usualmente necesita la colaboración y respaldo de diversas áreas y niveles de autoridad. Busca personas que estén alineados con tu visión y dispuestos a colaborar contigo para promover el cambio. Trabajando en equipo, podrán generar ideas, vencer obstáculos y fomentar una cultura de innovación más robusta y perdurable.

Innovation and creativity will be a competitive advantage of the future. That is, one must out innovative the competition in identifying and satisfying customer needs. This requires a sales force that is creative and innovative. Now what? First, I try to hire folks that have demonstrated creativity in their life experiences. But you may have a tenured sales force that has been controlled by restricting policies. If that is the case, you have to train them on the behaviors of creativity. That is what does creativity look like on a TV screen. Next, you must drive all fear out of your environment. Then you must verbally reinforce any behavior that suggests creativity as you slowly shape complete creative behavior. Bob Marquis

The next step is to seek feedback and support from your mentors, peers, and managers. Feedback is essential for innovation, as it helps you validate your assumptions, identify gaps, and improve your ideas. Support is also important, as it helps you overcome challenges, access resources, and gain recognition. Find mentors who can challenge you, guide you, and inspire you to innovate. They can be internal or external to your organization, as long as they have relevant expertise and experience. Seek peers who can collaborate with you, share insights, and provide constructive criticism. They can be from your team or from other departments, as long as they have similar interests and goals. Finally, seek managers who can empower you, sponsor you, and reward you for innovating. They can be your direct supervisors or senior leaders, as long as they have influence and authority.

La innovación prospera en entornos donde se valora la experimentación y el aprendizaje a partir de los fracasos. Anima a tus compa?eros a explorar nuevas ideas, incluso si esto conlleva tomar riesgos calculados. Celebra los intentos de innovación, aunque no resulten en éxito inmediato, y utiliza cada experiencia como una oportunidad para aprender y mejorar.
