Virtual meetings wont replace the casual hallway/water cooler/drive by conversations that you find face to face in the office. Take time to engage casually with your teams on video calls, talk about family, weekend interests, concerts, pets, weird tv programs, crazy neighbors etc - all the fun and casual conversations you would have face to face, you can and should have them virtually as well. Friday afternoon virtual happy hours are a great way to laugh, connect and engage.

Video calls are a must, keep driving the expectation for cameras on as much as possible, but keep internal meetings "casual" where appropriate. People need to feel they can communicate openly and regularly. Cameras on drives engagement and sometimes doing a mandatory camera on week (with some pre-notice) can help rejuvenate the spirits. Mandatory fun can seem forced but it helps people who wouldn't otherwise go out of their way to engage. Leverage a mix of larger groups for broad mostly one way communication but smaller groups for two way communication. Smaller groups are better for engagement and larger groups are better for disseminating information.

I believe that as a leader, your main objective is to train new leaders, to train people with the profile you seek to be, not to retain knowledge but to share. A leader must always be in constant movement, seeking new trends, seeking to evolve mentally to serve, as this is the objective. Serve! Communication is the main skill that must be developed and improved for those who have this type of vision. because it is through communication that all your knowledge and worldview will be passed on. seek your personal growth, which will reflect on your professional growth, be a mirror for your team and have an engaged team that will always be seeking the company's growth.

Therefore, the Logistics team needs valorization actions, such as these: 1. include a routine of Daily Logistics Dialogues, as is common for Factory Safety (DDS); 2. Give your team autonomy and recognize actions created by them; 3. Fight in front of your leaders to seek recognition awards, just as the Sales team normally has.

So don't limit yourself to investing in your team!

And this is not easy, mainly due to the competitive climate that can occur, as well as the necessary heterogeneity within the teams. It is the leader's role to seek a healthy and collaborative environment. How to do this? 1. Look for activities that bring different people together in a collaborative way. 2.Maintain a more collaborative and less competitive environment. How? One thing I've found helpful in managing a remote logistics team across time zones is establishing a "follow the sun" approach to core collaboration hours. For our geographically dispersed team, we have core hours that rotate throughout the week. This ensures there's always someone available during business hours for different regions, facilitating handoffs and real-time communication on critical issues. While some team members might need to adjust their schedules slightly on specific days, this approach ensures consistent coverage throughout the workday and minimizes disruptions for our clients and partners.

You need to understand that at least half of your time is needed to listen and dedicate yourself to people. And they need to trust you. Always be open to listening to your team, without necessarily offering solutions to all problems. They also need your trust. Examples of actions, in addition to daily listening: 1. Remember your birthday with messages and small treats. 2. Know a little about your priorities outside of work, such as family, pets and professional plans. Know and care about these factors for each person during conversations. 3. In case of health problems, be careful and visit when necessary. Seek humanity and charity within people management.

Schedule a virtual meeting to openly discuss concerns and gather feedback. Offer support and reassurance, emphasizing team achievements and acknowledging individual contributions. Secondly, check tools and resources provided if sufficient such as individual home Internet connections and laptops are functioning well. Developing a digital dashboard will be essential in objectively and timely monitor performance and come up with timely interventions. Third, assess each individuals situation, any bottleneck or support needed, trainings or coaching, reconfirm commitment to the teams goals. Check personal wishes, issues. Recognize and sincerely appreciate good works and extra efforts put into by each team members. These are the three areas I would focus in revitalising productivity among the team.
