If the "why" is not defined prior to starting the implementation, you may be less likely to achieve measurable impact in learning & development programs and organizational goals. Take Simon Sinek's advice and start with "why"!

Do not forget to honestly compare your "effort" for implementing the new Trends to the "effects" on your KPIs. If the work you put in is more than the outcome it makes no sense. In a lot of cases the KPIs that are chosen for measurment are chosen to make the outcome of the project look good, but do not show the relevant data or real situation.

In addition to leveraging new trends ensure to create the right environment and excitement in the company around the new solution through the right communication and marketing. If communication and marketing is done right, the start of implementation of a new program is a lot easier and most likely more successful.

A great place to start is to evaluate all your labor intensive processes for your department and your learners. These areas are easy pain points to identify where technology can give you a lift and you can measure the results concretely through $/hr saved. This metric will get leadership's buy in when you propose further tech additions.

We should not go for trends just because they are trendy. They have to be relevant and efficient to help us achieve our goals
