In my experience, dealing with resistance in a team can be tricky, especially when it comes to something like emotional intelligence in leadership. One time, my team was hesitant about incorporating emotional intelligence into our work culture. Some members were worried it might change how things operated or were unsure about what it really meant. To tackle this, I started by listening to everyone's concerns without judgment. I made sure they felt heard and understood by addressing any misconceptions they had. By showing respect for their perspectives, we built trust, which eventually made them more open to embracing emotional intelligence in our leadership approach.

2 Educate Gently

Once you understand the reasons behind the resistance, educate your team on the benefits of EI. You must lead by example and consistently model emotionally intelligent behavior. Show empathy, practice active listening, and manage your reactions to stress and conflict. When your team sees the positive outcomes of your EI-driven actions, such as better decision-making and stronger relationships, they may become more open to applying these principles themselves. In my experienced method of model such connecting the pain points with the solution. Asking the target people about their ideal persons or inspired leaders then demonstrating a real scenario of that leader in EI how they engage, thinking, deciding and reacting with the conflicts. I remember one case of my colleague in the team discussing and assessing while we allocate the potential technical members for a specific projects, by default he criticize a person with lack information about him, what i did is demonstrating a two way scenario What if he’s not ? And what if he’s yes? We could be right but what if we are the wrong? And so on counting.

Así como las organizaciones se interesan en capacitar a sus equipo en herramientas tecnológicas, liderazgo, procesos de feedback, protocolos, entre otros, deben incorporar un proceso de capacitación en inteligencia emocional; ya que el logro de los resultados depende del desempe?o de los equipos de trabajo, el desempe?o está ligado al clima organizacional y el clima organizacional está ligado a la inteligencia emocional. Adicional a esto, personalmente considero que este tipo de capacitaciones en IE generará un gran impacto fuera de la organizacion y a nivel social.
