What do you do if your team of physicians lacks diversity and inclusion?

First, we don't work our best if we live in a bubble. If we are only surrounded by those who look like us, think like us, and act like us, we grow to imagine the world is, well, only like us. Different viewpoints and cultures are essential to a vibrant healthcare workforce. In medicine, people want to see a provider who can relate to their culture and background and family, which means you need men and women of many races and ages to fit the needs of those patients. If you don't take an assessment of that and realize what's lacking, you can't fill it. This is always the first step.

Was tun Sie, wenn es Ihrem ?rzteteam an Diversit?t und Inklusion mangelt? Stellen Sie sich folgende Situation vor: Ein Mann hat Schmerzen im Kreuz, er spricht kein Deutsch und auch kein Englisch, er sprich nur Bulgarisch. Er hat auf einen Termin beim Orthop?den 3 Monate gewartet. Der Orthop?de und der Patient k?nnen sich nicht verst?ndigen. Der Orthop?de schick ihn wieder weg weil er ihn nicht versteht. Er sagt, kommen sie wieder mit einem Dolmetscher. Neuer Termin in 3 Monaten! (das ist eine wahre Geschichte) ==>L?sung bedeutet Toleranz und ist nicht immer bequem! Sich mal aus der Komfortzone zu bewegen ist, was wir beim Thema Diversity ben?tigen. Es h?tte so einige L?sungsansetze gegeben. Fazit: Diversity ist nicht bequem!

The makeup of our teams, and especially our caregivers and clinicians should reflect as much as possible the communities we serve. When we set a goal to embrace the diversity so closely that we reflect our community’s image physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually staying in tune with their spoken and unspoken needs becomes second nature. Sich "harte Ziele" zu setzen, diese auch nachzuverfolgen und zu messen ist das A und O, um Ver?nderungen überhaupt nachvollziehbar zu machen. Es gilt hier die Ziele mit den Unternehmenszielen zu verzahnen, so dass auch die Diversit?ts- und Inklusionsziele auf ein gro?es Ganzes einzahlen. Ziel die nur "im Silo" wirken sind einfach nur nett. Ziele brauchen aber auch echtes Comittment und ich stelle in meiner beruflichen Praxis oft fest, dass zu wenig um ECHTE Ziele gerungen wird. Gute Ziele haben Menschen dahinter die dafür brennen, diese zu erreichen und setzen positive Energien frei, die echt etwas bewegen.

Mitarbeitenden die jeweils erkannten Lücken der Diversit?t reflektieren und ebenfalls bewerten lassen. Zudem auch erweitern lassen aus der Sicht bzw Perspektive des Teams selbst heraus.

Es gilt den IST-Zustand zu bewerten - das System ist der Fehler und es erfüllt nicht seine Aufgabe. Es geht um Gesundheit f?rdern und nicht Krankheit zu behandeln. Mit dem dadurch neuen Standpunkt gilt es aufzustehen, Rückgrat zu zeigen und alle im System befindlichen schlechten Zellen zu entfernen. Evolution oder Revolution? Die neuen Ziele sind schneller erreichbar, wenn es gelingt das System gegen die Widerst?nde der daran Verdienenden auf den Kopf zustellen.

Nichts ist kraftvoller, als wenn Mitarbeitenden Teil des Prozesses sind und nicht Befehlsempf?nger. Schlie?lich wollen wir ja alle Mitarbeiter und nicht Abarbeiter! Das bedeutet aber auch, das der Modus operandi klar sein muss. Mitarbeit, Zusammenarbeit und Führung bedeutet nicht B?llebad und dass jeder machen darf was er/sie so will. Es hei?t seinen Handlungsspielraum zu kennen und diesen proaktiv auszufüllen. Hei?t aber auch dass die Führungskraft diesen Handlungsspielraum gibt, ihn nicht st?ndig in Frage stellt oder gar misstrauisch den Kontrolleur spielt. Bei der Rekrutierung von Mitarbeitern wird meines Erachtens viel zu viel Wert auf Diplome und Ausbildungen gelegt. Klar, je nach Job müssen gewisse Anforderungen erfüllt sein. Jedoch wird oft zu wenig auf die Pers?nlichkeit geschaut. Mir ist bewusst, dass dies etwas schwieriger ist, als auf die Ausbildungen zu schauen. Es gilt jedoch zu bedenken, dass die Erweiterung von Wissen normalerweise kein Problem ist. Eine Pers?nlichkeit zu ver?ndern jedoch schon eher.

Es muss Sinn und Spa? zugleich machen, sowie zum Leben reichen. Viele durch die KI-optimierten Prozesse freigesetzten Person sollte es leichter gemacht werden umzusteigen. Wir k?nnen es uns schlicht weg nicht leisten, diese in Altersteilzeit oder Frührente zu schicken. Im gleichen Ma?e gilt das auch für Immigranten, denn Danke der Sprachprogramme ist hier überzogene Sprachkenntnis als Vorlauf nicht mehr n?tig, sondern ein gemeinsames Lernen aller die beste und schnellste L?sung.

Ein Gesundungshaus wir gehen krank rein und gesund raus. Das ist dann auch ein Gesundheitssystem und kein Krankheitssystem
