What do you do if your team needs inspiration and motivation?

To inspire and motivate your team, set clear goals, provide recognition and feedback, encourage open communication, and create opportunities for growth and learning. Engage team members in brainstorming sessions and lead by example to foster a positive work environment.

Inspiration and motivation is the important role of servant leadership. If you want to inspire you must have the qualities with in yourself such as follow work commitment, focus on team growth, and follow professional work standards. Delegation is not only your work, you need to guide, support wherever requires to complete the tasks. Provide the work environment where people share their ideas, sollutions and suggestions without fear. Encourage the team continuously for completion of even small tasks also that's lead to motivate the team for produce better outcomes. Appreciation, rewards and recognition will motivate the team members and focus on organisational growth with individuals growth that leads to create good relationship.

Your team is what you are in most of the cases. If you have doubts - team have doubts, if you are strong - team is confident. In order to inspire your team you must work relentlessly on yourself to be an ethical standard and a holder of knowledge. It’s very hard to maintain positive attitude in a stormy weather, but this something you must train to protect creativity within team. You set a standards/limitations and let self-organization drive internal team dynamics to sort the issues maximally compatible with the level of knowledge they have. Always raise the bar.

Be together with the team, showing enthusiasm for the subjects, always give feedback, encourage and recognize the team. Give them the support they need and make them feel like they can count on your support. Clear and transparent objectives make it easier to seek results, be a good listener to your team, offer spaces for them to express their thoughts.

What I learned over these 15 years in a leadership role is that building a relationship of trust with your team, coupled with active listening, creates a collaborative and inspiring environment, because when everyone feels empowered to contribute, especially with ideas, the stimulus is natural and motivation of each person forms a high performance team.

Understand how and where the 2 (inspiration & motivation) get derailed. Unclarity, ambiguity, workload, lack of autonomy, to state a few, are contributors to increase the sense of lack or emptiness. Hence the reason why knowing each individual is vital, specially when we need to help them establish the bridge between their core values, beliefs, ambitions and life goals with the vision and mission of the organization. Repetition in passing on the message on how their work impacts on the organizational performance is key for people to understand their impact. Challenging projects/tasks as an opportunity to reignite motivation. One of the projects should have 50% chance of failure, and if there is no failure, we are not thinking big enough.
