In order to identify the signs, one should be self-aware with their emotions. With self awareness can really help you learn and gain E.I. This will also determine for yourslef what affects your work performance therefore able to communicate, and mentor other people.

The second step is to communicate clearly with your team. Low-EI teams often find difficulty in expressing their needs, feelings, and expectations, and listening to others which can lead to confusion, frustration, and resentment. To prevent this from occurring, it is essential to use simple, direct, and respectful language while avoiding jargon, sarcasm, or ambiguity. Additionally, providing constructive and specific feedback as well as acknowledging and appreciating your team's efforts and achievements can help create a positive and supportive environment for your team. Furthermore, encouraging questions, suggestions, and feedback from your team will foster trust and respect. By communicating clearly with your team, you can ensure a positive atmosphere.

In having self awareness, ables one to understand their emotions and know the cause and effect of each emotion to their work, or daily lives. Understanding once emotions helps communicate to others what you are feeling, and therefore you'll be able to explain it in great depth and get the help needed

3 Manage emotions

The third step is to manage your own and your team's emotions. Low-EI teams often struggle to regulate their emotions, and may react impulsively, defensively, or aggressively. This can have a detrimental effect on relationships, performance, and wellbeing. To avoid this, you should recognize and label emotions, validate and empathize with them, help your team to calm down and cope with stress, reframe negative emotions into positive ones, and resolve conflicts constructively and collaboratively. This will enable your team to develop emotional awareness, control, and resilience.

The fourth step is to train and coach your team on EI skills. Low-EI teams can be held back by their lack of knowledge, tools, and strategies for improving EI. To address this, you should assess your team's strengths and weaknesses in EI, provide relevant and engaging training and coaching sessions on EI topics, use real-life examples, scenarios, and exercises to practice EI skills, monitor and measure your team's progress and improvement in EI, and celebrate and reward your team's achievements and milestones in EI. By doing so, you can help them learn how to apply EI skills in their work and life.
