What do you do if your team dynamic is constantly changing?

For starters, I would want to understand WHY the dynamic keeps changing. And are these changes heading into a positive direction for me and my growth. Schedule a meeting with your manager and ask thoughtful questions to better understand how you fit into the changes the team is experiencing. By better understanding the WHY behind the changes you're in a much better position to adapt to the changes. This is also a great opportunity to provide suggestions for how you can be a part of the changes. Show your initiative by being part of the solution!

When are team dynamics NOT changing? Every new challenge and especially every addition or departure of staff changes the dynamic and the culture. I love the advice to embrace change as a positive and an opportunity to rethink stale processes and be intentionally innovative.

Check any habit you have of not sharing information - I've known individuals in organisations consider honesty almost as a last resort. However "open" communication is, there will still be different interpretations of it and different experiences that mean it lands in different ways for people. So genuine dialogue - all parties being able to speak, ask, listen is key. Acknowledging the emotions present during constant change is part of this openness. Suggesting having an emotional response is "unprofessional" is suffocating to people. During particularly difficult/unclear times also remember to communicate that there is nothing to communicate (when there is nothing new right now) - it settles people's nervous systems to know this.

We are all humans. Each and every team member has been in similar spaces as each other before. You all are working together and should communicate openly. I always say this, "If I feel this way, maybe someone else has." For instance, recently my team dynamic changed a little. I therefore reflected what I am feeling and presented it to my fellow team members. I then continued to try to understand how they might be feeling. The results, better efficiency within the team, communication, feeling heard, sharing, and understanding on the dynamics at play. As long as there is constant communication between team members, we can minimize and prevent any outcasts and misunderstandings. Then we gain benefits of being agile and efficient as a team.

It is important for the team to understand the road map towards achieving the Organisational goals. This is only possible when we try to give them the clear KPI which is SMART.

Goal setting is an important part in embracing change.Our goal should be SMART one specific clear thought with a positive outlook . This will be measured regularly during training and meeting and ultimately will lead to success in the team spirit and adapt for change

Change should always be expected to some extent. Embracing adaptability will allow you to move quickly when those changes are a surprise. Whether you thrive in change or get frustrated, flexing the adaptability skill will benefit you as you move through your career. Having said that, when change is frequently happening, you need to control what you can control. Consider your day-to-day work/life habits - what is within your control to help you feel grounded as you embrace changes with your team.

Sharing expectations with team members plays a crucial role when team dynamics are constantly changing. It's a two-way street where you need to communicate your expectations while also learning the expectations of your team members.
