It's important to keep our neurodivergent students in mind when adapting to an online platform; and then to take into account the home lives of those students we're hoping to serve. What distractions might mean that ADHD students in difficult home situations can't focus on the work you want to set them? How might autistic kids in an environment where autism isn't recognised or autistic people valued even feel capable of learning without the support of a teacher who is actually present to lean on? What might smaller phone screens do to dyslexic students who have previously had larger screens in a classroom? It's only when we consider these questions that we can begin the process of including all children in our online lessons.

I would add, if you are new to using these programs, practice a lot with other colleagues before launching into a virtual session on your own. The ideal would be that in your first virtual classes you have another person who knows these platforms by your side. and can guide you or solve technical problems that may arise.

Metrics to measure Efficacy are a must. Constant iteration after key milestones, where you can measure progress and goals achieved, will validate your methodology. This efficacy needs to be reflected as progress compared with standards and best practices. Innovation will reflect when and how your students are really owning the new skills.
