What do you do if your superiors in mobile design give you feedback?

The designer should always show that they are listening, even if it's a very bad feedback. In my experience, rather than interrupting the presenters, I always insist on the letting the person present until the end then latter we can add some notes or share our thoughts. Depending on the company and on the people around, I think it's totally disrespectful to interrupt someone that is trying to give explanation on something. We, the designers, should be the model of listening until the person finishes the speech then we can come with the different feedback and questions. I strongly believe that when really listening to the others, we care and we respect them.

Feedback is always with you when you design something. Some feedback tend to have bad intention, but many are given in order to really help the designer on their work. Having critical thinking and using your interpersonal skills will definitely help you manage all of those feedback. In many cases, you will see some emotions during the critique sessions, but stay focused, use the data you gathered and be ready to use your kindness in order to inspire everyone around you. Don't forget to list the feedback that needs to be changed right now and the one that can be implemented later.

As always said in any design community, we need to be respectful and polite in everything we do. Here, be ready to show the difference between explaining the data you got from the research and being defensive. You need to train on that, but always be ready to be respectful during the journey. For me, you need to stay professional and always stand for the users. Don't forget to be the model of being respectful in your team. When seeing something not good for the users and the business, you can show your ideas and your solutions politely. Always be respectful!

The feedback from your superiors are already valuable but you may need to organize critiques sessions that invite more people to your design. Try to recruit some of your peers, people from the Marketing department, and some engineers. Be ready to include some variety of skills in the circle so that you gain more important insights for the solutions. When seeking more feedback, explain to your team, if they don't know yet, that the feedback you get will all be recorded and some will be implemented right away, others will be implemented for later versions. All of that is based on the users needs and the business needs.

I appreciate the feedback; It's easy to get lost without it. Consider that someone is sharing their time, concern, and experience to help you improve your skills.
