What do you do if your students are struggling to understand a complex concept?

Help students see how the concept applies to the real world. Use real-life examples, analogies, or stories to illustrate the concept. This will make it more relatable and easier to understand. Use visuals like diagrams, charts, graphs or even simulations to represent the concept. Visuals can help students grasp abstract ideas and make connections between different parts of the concept. Engage students in active learning activities that will help them process the information. This could include things like group discussions, problem-solving exercises, or creating presentations. Throughout your explanation, pause and check to see if students are understanding. If one approach isn't working, try explaining the concept in a different way.

I do use an AI tool that helps me and my team to diagnose the problems that can appear in any of our projects. But this AI tool, after giving us the diagnosis for the problem, provides all the details on how we can resolve the problem and the future issues that can occur in the future for each situation that the diagnose AI tool was utilized to solve the original problem that was identified on the first test in that matter. AI tools can be used to find any situation at any time. Doing this is the most efficient way to solve the problem and the issues that can appear in the future. Plus, it’s the most time-efficient approach to ensure that we have good time management and a good balance between our personal life and working life anytime.

This a time to listen. Help students to expand upon their thinking and articulate what confuses them. Connections will be found. Besides, having the courage to struggle with a problem is way more valuable than knowing all the answers. Encourage them to follow their questions. New levels of understanding will come.

Ask for clarification but you have to listen more and more for students details to ensure your full understanding then you have to adjust the direction to fit the new needs! If students are struggling with concept the main reason can be :- 1)lack of fundamental knowledge -so first i will try to communicate with the students to understand whether the fundamentals are strong or not and if not I will help them to make the fundamental strong 2)maybe the explanation is not delivered correctly , so ill try to convey the concept through real life scenario and examples and try to explain more deeply. Constant communication with the students will help to make a good relation and students will be able to connect more easily.and can make them understand the concept in root level

In my experience, finding very effective and simple interactive strategies to demonstrate what the concepts are about is a good way to reach students who are struggling with comprehension. Reaching this level of interaction will require the instructor to better understand the concepts to the point of demonstration in order to help the students

Hands-on or sandbox learning, even if students fail to get to the answer before time is up, is an especially useful learning tool. While at the university, my programming instructors often broke us up into separate Zoom rooms with limited time to solve a problem. When class resumed in the main room, one team taught the rest of the class how to solve the problem. Next, the instructor shared alternative methods and shortcuts. What we learn from each other is far more likely to stick than reading or listening to an instructor. Encourage hall talks or lunchroom discussions!

If the students are struggling to understand some concepts that means that they are unable to dive deep into what they are learning, so if the content is interactive they can have a group discussion or hands on activity which is not only theoritical but will give them a chance to understand all prospectives of the content.

I have yet to encounter a concept, theory, principle or subject matter that I could not, given enough time, make accessible to my students by systematically trying alternative descriptors. When we speak of visual aids, people think of videos and PowerPoint slides, but for me, it's all about making whatever it is I'm describing more tangible and relatable. A whiteboard or even an overhead projector with a video feed to a desk with some loose sheets of paper will serve as an adequate space in which to craft and represent the key elements of the topic. Then we can work in a collaborative learning process, often leveraging metaphors, to (literally) draw the 'narrative' of the topic, ideally through application to an example.

"Learning by doing". I was lucky enough to study in a different educational system under this methodology, and it is one of the best thing I have been able to do, since you learn faster and on a personal level you see the real impact that this learning has on the "real world". I think that schools and universities should adopt this methodology more, since I really believe that it is one of the ones that works best. It is also much more powerful if students apply this learning to topics that they are really passionate about.

People tends to understand what is relatable i.e when you make a particular concept relatable to them either personal life challenges or something related to their immediate environment, once they understand this, you can then link it to the particular concept you are trying to teach. Believe me, they will never forget because anytime they are to use such concept, they will always remember the relatable analogy used in teaching them. This have really work for me so many times. They may not remember the exact name of the particular concept, but they understand the concept to the last point.

The 2 best ways to learn something are: 1. by putting it into practice 2. By teaching other people I think it is a very interesting technique to have other students explain certain topics to their classmates in class, because, in order for them to explain a topic, they must first learn it and then put it into their words to explain it to other people, plus they are forced to repeat these topics.

Connect the new concept to their personal experiences or interests. For exemple, teaching the water cycle? Teaching is simple if you know what to do at very point in time and teachers more complex things is simpler because it's assumed the brain of the students are empty of what you have to say. I. Everyone learns concepts differently. I think a lot of the time with concepts, as we learn them our brains relate them to things we understand, such as with real-world examples or comparative graphs and visuals. But, sometimes, a tried and true method to teach a concept for most students won't work on a few simply because their brain isn't connecting with the content in the same way. In this case, I think finding new ways to explain the concept, talking to peers or finding new resources that explain it differently, would help immensely. If the brain can't latch on to one way to explain something, perhaps there will be something in another way, and while finding new ways to explain it, the teacher solidifies their understanding as well.

I often determine the key learning styles of my class. This could be done prior to the session where I will casually engage them in conversations. From this I will have a rough idea if the they are Visual, Auditory or Kinesthetic learners. This gives me an advantage to adjust my style of delivery accordingly, Of coz as I continue to engaging with them during the session, more information on their learning styles can be obtained. Knowing your students' VAK is a powerful tool in getting their attention and aiding their learning!
