I think it's important to take a step back and remember the main reason why you conducted all the analyses in the first place - e.g. your client's query or your research question. Try to find a core message, preferably a single sentence without jargon, with which you can convey the most important outcome of your analyses. This can be really tricky and take a few hours. But once you're satisfied with that, you can go on to add more details. Remember that your analyses, too, had a storyline - e.g. you start by checking prerequisites because otherwise you cannot do the main analyses, and the main analyses may have lead to other questions. This thought process should be reflected in your report.

Respond to those concerns in an understandable language with simple terminology and to grasp the curiosity of the readers. You may phrase your discussion section or findings in an episodic or story like text. This is to present it as an enjoyable and interesting story. This will give a literary taste, to liberate the text from the complexity and sofistication of scientistific writings.

Some of the things I have done to bring clarity to my work is a. Avoiding compound sentences. I try as much as possible to reduce the length of my sentences. Short direct sentences with one idea is always better than a complex sentence mashing 3 or 4 complex ideas into one b. I try to use an active voice instead of a passive voice in my communication. This allows the work to be easily relatable. c. I limit the number of adverbs I use. The temptation with using adverbs is that you may end up getting wrapped up in the description of an idea. This may lead you to be repetitive.

It's helpful to communicate what the statistics means by outlining what is your reference group and inference group, and what the difference between the reference group and inference group mean in a structured and chronologically ordered way, so the logic behind the statistics can be followed more seamlessly. In contrast to stating something as "significant" without any additional contexts of what kind of effect is significant and between who.

There are two tricks I found useful: 1) to use words with a Greek root instead of those with a Latin root, e.g., “compute” is more straightforward than “calculate,” and 2) to use consistent vocabularies instead of switching for synonyms. For words with Greek root, they usually have fewer meanings and have less syllables than those with a Latin root. This is helpful as readers have to store these information in their working memory as they read; therefore, the fewer the easier when conveying the same idea. For the second point, although the language will be repetitive, familiarity will help with understanding. Changing the terminology often confuses readers because it’s hard to tell if the author means something slightly different.

It's very important to be able to communicate data visually as graph/ chart/ picture is much easier to understand than text. And it has been confirmed in my experience that short and simple is better - few visuals, one main message per slide/ page, one clear table with what, why, impact is much better than paragraph of explanation but sometimes, table needs explanation, then text emphasis, comparisons and examples work the best.

Visual Aids are extremely powerful. Remember by design your friendly neighbourhood Powerpoint has a chart by default in most of it templates (there is a reason why it is designed so) 1) Picture speak worth a thousand words, however you need to have a right chart for the same. Time Trends are better explained in line charts v/s comparison can be better done by column charts etc. (Learn to eliminate or combine noise into a single visual, like showing Top 5 or Pareto Charts etc.) 2) Always connect your visual/chart/slide to the overarching question we were trying to answer using this statistical analysis (Answer the So What in each of your slides)
