Train the team in risk and mitigation. this fear is risk they have to find mitigation for this risk, ask them to think how would they mitigate this risk. Teach them what is calculated risk and attention to details, make them experience it. To understand taking risk, first you need to gain knowledge on the subject than experiment risks on the subject, the knowledge on the subject should give you the mitigation ways. now this is called calculated risk. once the team experience the calculated risk, they will start learning from their mistakes which are unimagined / unmanaged risks

Try to introduce ideas slowly, firstly the best thing to be done is proof of concept, usually making something work on small example means it can work very well on the larger scale, It is easier then to explain with examples then with raw ideas. Such approach will enable better understanding and switch new ideas into existing ideas that people are not afraid of.
