What do you do if your problem-solving skills are hindering your advancement in Facility Management (FM)?

If my problem-solving skills were hindering my advancement in Facility Management (FM), I would take proactive steps to improve them: 1. Self-assessment: Identify specific areas where my problem-solving skills may be lacking or need improvement. 2. Training and development: Seek out training programs, workshops, or online courses focused on problem-solving techniques and methodologies relevant to facility management. 3. Mentorship: Seek guidance from experienced professionals in facility management who can provide advice, share their problem-solving strategies, and offer constructive feedback.

I will convince myself, that I tried my best to settle things, but if the situation going out of my hand then better to leave it.

I will look patiently at the problem and analyze it and get a full details of the method to use by going deep into training and research,

Continuous learning in data analysis equips FM professionals to leverage insights for predictive maintenance, resource optimization, and space utilization. By harnessing data-driven solutions, facilities can operate more efficiently, reduce costs, and improve occupant satisfaction. Embracing data analytics not only enhances problem-solving skills but also positions FM professionals at the forefront of industry innovation.

Organize hackathons or innovation challenges focused on solving specific facility management problems. Encourage employees to collaborate across departments and disciplines to develop creative solutions within a limited timeframe.

Here what I do to solve a problem ?Define and rummage the problem ?Determine the root cause ? take the necessary decision and action on the right time in case of urgent matters or short term issues ? In long term issues I engage my team, held a brainstorming session and give every member a chance to express his creative solution at end of the session we reach the most optimum and sustainable solution technically, financially and environmentally. ?These sessions improve our problem solving skills as we exchange knowledge and experience. If these methods won't work ??!! I think we must seek help from other experts or a consultant firm. Taking into consideration that my team already have had the necessary and right training courses.
