I am reminded of a very famous quote by W. Edwards Deming and I quote ‘ We trust in God, all others please bring data’. Data is king. Collect data from other similar plants and demonstrate the benefits of using new technology. After all the management must have done these studies beforehand to convince themselves to change. In an open forum show these studies to them and their advantages. I believe any changes being done should bring about the following advantages: - Ease of work - Saving in time - Cost advantage - Competitive edge Send your operators to such plants which have adopted new technology. They can see, first hand, the tangible and intangible advantage of the new technology.

Ask concern, do not implement change directly , give them proper training, minimize issues and concern, give them enough time for trails, or mock exercises for that change, ask them more better ways to do that job or what can be done to improve with implemented change. Give them benefits or rewards too. Give them clear understanding why change is needed, and benefit to both company and operators.
