My perspective is to stop trying to "keep up" with movements or trends, because you will never be able to keep up with everything. It will create guilt, low self-esteem, and increase your baseline stress levels. Instead, find your voice/niche as a creative and look for continued ways to grow in that. Don't try to be like everyone else and stay on top of every avenue. Your photography will suffer if spread out too thin across multiple competing trends and genres. You will also lose a strong creative voice and it will make you a worse photographer. Discern who you are as a creative, improve your skills in your niche, and remain confident in your creative identity.
