What do you do if your passion for virtual reality (VR) isn't shining through in an interview?

Passions normally come through naturally. You don’t need to rehearse or do research because you’re doing it all the time as a hobby. If this isn’t the case then maybe VR isn’t your passion?

VR does not have to be your passion if you are using it just for work. VR can be just one of the job tools. Question; Why do we have some strict limits on high-end devices? Use them if you need them, try to understand them, let them make your job easier. That's it!

Sometimes our knowledge doesn't actually give the reflection of our capabilities and it can happen in interviews as well. So we need to learn from the process and try to create something in the same field that we can show to the interviewer which might change his perception.

Staying updated in VR demands more than rote learning—it's a journey fueled by passion and curiosity. Master the basics, embrace failure as an opportunity to innovate, and stay current with the latest technologies. Experiment, learn simple hardware since each tools will serve each purpose and share knowledge to grow collectively. External resources and collaborations are invaluable. With a mindset of continuous growth and collaboration, you'll be at the forefront of VR innovation. There are multiple ways to execute a project but you do it in your own way and in one way, so that it will lead you to big change in your learning path .turn your ideas into reality.

Remember the first time you put on a headset and the feeling of wonder and amazement that sparked your interest. Remember all the people you helped have their ‘first time’ in VR and the excitement in their voice as they described what they were experiencing. Let that shine through in your voice and facial expressions as you recreate that sense of magic. Then the panel will definitely feel your passion come through in the interview!

Working with VR can definitely create some very interesting scenarios of problem solving and passion for exploring newer technologies, which will definitely reflect in the way you share your experiences with working on VR devices such as the Quest, Rift or Vive.

Whenever we do something in the respective fields we must get proper feedback from our colleagues, friends, students and families so that we know where we can improve or what is next to be done.Doing this exercise will be more helpful and give us practical experience that we can share with the team.

If the passion doesn't shine through an interview, it will through your whole career. There are those who talk the talk, and those who walk the walk. If you're passionnate enough about VR, you won't wait for a job to practice and enjoy it. You'll do it because you love it in the first place.
