In my own experience when I bought an online course that was not user-friendly was to contact the instructor. Because I am also a course creator, when I see any course that is not user-friendly I will know. The course was shabbily done, and he even joined some course from other course creators which were not related to the topic. I reached out to the course creator through online chat but unfortunately he was defensive and didn't want to listen to my suggestions. So I left him and move on.

I once contacted an online course instructor regarding some issues with the way the course was structured. He expressed his appreciation and provided me with a coupon to attend another free course he offers. I guess most course creators are looking for legitimate feedbacks from their students. Don't be shy! You actually help them by contacting them and telling them about the things you find them odd or not up to your expectation.

When I bought a course that was not user-friendly, after contacting the course creator and he didn't offer any assistance I moved on because I didn't even know other people that bought the same course.

By mere listening and watching the course alone do not to justice to the effort of the creator of the online course if there are accompanied resources. Based on my personal experience. Utilizing the resources helps me to reinforce my learning and memory. For some online courses that include cheatsheet, checklist or job aid, use them as a tool in application of the information provided in course. I often continue to get extra value from attending those courses long after I have completed them. It helps me to increase my ROI.

Online courses require you to be more independent, self-directed, and flexible in your learning. You need to adjust your learning style to suit the online environment and the course format. If the online course is pre-recorded or asynchronous. I often find it easier to incorporate to my work and personal routine. It's actually quite flexible to adapt to your learning style. And, most importantly, we can revisit the materials as needed after you have completed the course.
