Every organization has a recovery disaster plan in a event of a network crash. Time and quick solutions is critical. If its a hardware issue, inform all your parties, repairs and in process and it might take 15mins to 30mins to repair. However Softwares, takes a little while to resolve cause it needs to be updated or it needs software extension tools, or server drivers needing updates. Again, inform your parties. Windows server updates takes time, however hardware components takes a few minutes. So prioritize your time and take effort to resolve the quickly and calmly.

Running rigorously networking test is important cause; it will help you to be aware and prevent future escalation of network issues. Taking the time to check your networking hardware; check switching ports with internet tester tool, check routing cables, check computer performance with diagnostics apps such as CPU-Z, ping your users IPs from your organization main server, check if all users have backups, monitor your network to see if any other user has software issue or down. Ensure all parties computers are functioning stable and processing with efficiency. This will take 1hr or less depending on the size of your organization.
