One thing that I've found useful across my stint in Research industry that if your leveraging your resume with actionable insights it will help. - You can structure your current job knowledge in a story-driven process since you need to layout stories in your reports. - You can definitely point out relevant skills and some of them include Excel, BI, Tableau, and SQL. So, mention them with your level of expertise in them. - Even if you can lay out the research papers you have worked on, they should be related to understanding research practices that would again leverage.

Layout your contribution in a very precise and sharp manner. Suppose you were a part of a project that received a 5-star rating from the client. Mention the Customer satisfaction scores were high for my projects since the grievance delivery was on point and on time. Also, if you have worked on an automation project, let's say for any type of repetitive study (say your team got a product test) and multiple teams are getting product tests that have the standard layout of the Questionnaire, so develop an automated macro or questionnaire with the support from other teams. This will reduce the Turn Around Time (TAT) for the whole org. at a significant level for similar projects.

Upskilling is a crucial part of any job. Once you are on the job that doesn't mean your learning should stop. It should be there, just put in some consistent efforts to grow yourself from the tribe. Certifications are very easily available these days and can be done at your own pace. Try obtaining Excel and SQL's basic certification, as they will make you hands-on with the tools. Also, doing capstone projects would be great to enhance your CV as they will test you with real problems that ignites your think tank.

Optimizing your resume will always help. It is because each job demands different skillset and we need to understand one thing very clearly that a generic response to everything won't work. Identify the theme of the job from JD. Various tools are available in the market to analyze a JD and identify its keywords. Run the diagnostics on your resume and update it accordingly. This will help you to clear the ATS round with ease. The ATS-friendly resume will hold ~75% more chance to get clearance from the system.
