What do you do if your job prospects need a boost?

One of the ways I have directed my upskill efforts is by seeking out leaders in my industry here on Linkedin. I found a few professionals who regularly contribute to podcasts or blogs in my field and then looked at what qualifications they hold. I also searched for the type of positions I would like to grow into and narrowed by education goals based on the required certifications/coursework that is listed for those roles. Using these two methods I was able to choose the education path and the training opportunities that will most benefit me.

If we never grow we are now all we will ever be. Gaining new knowledge and skills should be a life-long pursuit. Not only does it increase our opportunities, it leads to living a more satisfied and fulfilled life.

When I first began my career, I thought 'networking' was about developing an elevator pitch and then bombarding as many people as possible with that. Effective networking is nothing like that. People's favorite subject to talk about is themselves. So, have the maturity and discipline to genuinely listen to others first. By taking this approach, others will be eager to learn about you.
