If you are finding your interviewers are just plain rude, you can always stop and remind them that you are qualified for the role and ask them to clarify any questions that you didn't understand - to make sure you didn't misunderstand something. You also can end the interview and thank them for the opportunity. This could be a red flag signaling their treatment of the team. If you are feeling lost in your answers and getting confused, stop and ask for clarification, say "Does that answer your question?" to check your clarity. There was an old saying - " Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt." Many people have kept this in mind and hence keep quiet. PLEASE RELEGATE SUCH SAYINGS TO THE PAST. In today's world, it is totally ok to speak up. It is totally okay to clarify your doubts! No one is going to judge you or consider you any less fit.

Absolutely ask for clarification; repeat questions back: “So when you asked me (A), do you want to know (B)?” If you say something or answer a question in a certain way and it looks like people are staring at you funny, don’t be afraid to ask them if they have questions, or were expecting something else…basically, keep the conversation flowing. Be brave. And be honest. Don’t make things up if you feel they have different expectations.

It's a smooth way to steer the conversation back into your comfort zone and showcase your value.

I recommend saying you are interested in the role and why, and then asking about the next steps. This will show you want to move forward. Also, don't forget to write each interviewer a personal thank-you note/email reiterating points from the conversation and reminding them of your qualifications.

There could be numerous reasons that an interview didn't go as well as planned. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT ONE INTERVIEW DOES NOT DEFINE YOU, YOUR WORTH OR YOUR CAPABILITIES. Do not blame yourself or get demotivated; cause these are the easiest to do. Treat the experience as a learning opportunity and focus on what you could do differently next time to increase your chances of success. However, If possible, do seek feedback from the interviewer. Constructive feedback can provide valuable insights and can help one address any areas for improvement for future interviews. Stay positive, and have confidence in your abilities, and keep improving and striving for success in future opportunities.

First, not many job seekers write them, so it helps you stand out and make a positive impression. Second, you now have the time to clearly express yourself, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in speaking to questions more fully, with career examples. If you have recommendation letter that support this that you didn't share already, include those. I helped an engineer save the day this way.
