A pre-mortem approach, applied to implementing an innovative solution in healthcare, involves proactively considering potential roadblocks and failures before actually launching the solution. But please have this mindset if you will apply this approach: a pre-mortem approach is not about predicting failure; it's about proactive planning and risk mitigation. By involving your team in this process, you can leverage their collective knowledge, identify potential weaknesses, and develop strategies to ensure a smoother and more successful implementation of the innovative healthcare solution.

I’ve learned from my experience and not on the easy way that in this situations the most important thing to do to have your team on board is to involve them EARLY & OFTEN. This will show them that you care about their opinions and the impact of the solution on their activities. So brainstorm together. Get everyone's ideas flowing to identify roadblocks and solutions. And ensure shared ownership. Delegate tasks, fostering a sense of accountability and investment.

When I have new projects especially inovative ones I do two things: 1. First of all I socialize and test the ideea of the project/ solution. I was inspired with this approach by Netflix culture. When they have new and innovative ideas first they socialize and test it internally. Secondly I start the project with a pilot program. Implement the solution in a limited capacity within a specific department or unit before full-scale adoption. This allows for real-world testing, refinement based on user feedback, and building a success story to garner broader support.

You need to ensure that the solution is integrated into your existing systems and processes, and that it is aligned with your policies and standards. In my opinion always take into consideration the sustainability. For an inovative solution it’s important to secure long-term funding. Ensure adequate resources are allocated to support the solution's ongoing maintenance and development. And also be aware and prepared and focused on integration with existing infrastructure. Plan for seamless integration of the new solution with existing IT systems and workflows to minimize disruption.
