I’ve managed teams across 3 continents, and no doubt: it can be brutal. I’ve found the more time zones involved, the more you need to shorten the intervals between meeting face to face. Maintain daily stand-up’s, do 1:1s once a week (religiously), and you may even want to do weekly instead of biweekly sprints to keep a better tab on work outcomes. You’re missing those “water cooler moments” for sure, but these can be supplemented in formal and informal ways. Feedback early, feedback often, and add some patience and kindness to boot and you can have a highly effective, productive, and in-sync team.
