If my decision-making process as a software project manager is hindered by obstacles, I address them by first identifying the root causes of the obstacles. Then, I explore potential solutions, seek input from relevant stakeholders, and consider the potential impacts of each option. I prioritize transparency and communication throughout the decision-making process, ensuring that all team members are informed and involved as appropriate. Additionally, I remain adaptable and open to feedback, continuously reassessing and adjusting my approach as needed to overcome obstacles and make informed decisions effectively.

Whenevr the decision-making process is hindered by obstacles, first step is to Pause and have a look at what you have at hand. Keeping asking Why and do deep in identifying the root cause. When you get there, its time to go back to the drawing board with the team and discuss and brainstorm the potential solutions. I make sure its a safe and open environment for the team to communicate and suggest without being judged. This also has to be done with transparency in communication so that all the stakeholders are aware. This will lead us to make informed decisions.

I am a firm believer in leveraging effective communication and social skills to 'get things done'. As mentioned by my peers, yes, the first step is to identify the WHY, pause, and reflect. Next comes collaboration - with the relevant stakeholders (internal, external). This involves: 1) ensuring everyone is on the same page with what the key goal/objective is, 2) hearing one another's perspectives, and creating a space for people to feel involved and invested in the project, and then 3) taking ownership of tasks to overcome those challenges.
