What do you do if your creative entrepreneurship lacks essential skills?

Grow or die. This is a constant in business, you either adapt or fall behind. But its easy to say, & harder to do in every single area that will need it. I try to tackle this with the mindset of taking it on as a personal challenge: like a game to see how far I can take it. This keeps it more fun, but still challenging, & it really is a game because there are things you know & things you don't know, and now you're challenged to deal with the things you don't know. So whats the formula for success when every single new thing is different? It's the mindset, or how you frame it. You have to have a solid foundation on how you approach problems, that can see beyond the feeling of the problem. That can see the end result of success & growth.

Outsourcing is welcome and necessary but you must to it to the proper person otherwise your needs might be delayed or improperly managed. Many tasks are outsourced or delegated, giving the false sensation that it will be solved but in the results you find that the matter or task is not done properly and now you also have spent an important asset which is time.

At first glance, delegating, seems like the easiest of all tasks, but I think most entrepreneurs would agree that when they look back on their experience with delegating, it's not just a quick decision to make. When you are the one responsible for the quality of work your company produces, (which is really at the core of every entrepreneur) it's even more important that you partner with the right resource to outsource anything you need. They need to truly understand your focus, what's important to you, and overall just 'get you'. Once you find them & they do a good job, you can say you've delegated well. But there is the constant pressure of time and deliverables, that if given in too soon, can undermine the quality of that resource.

Enjoying the journey: if you're truly honest with yourself and you decide that you want to genuinely enjoy the journey then this is the kindling that can start the roaring fire of success. Because you are digging deep inside of you to find what interests you the MOST, and you are more likely to pick the best thing that will keep you inspired to continue learning it and growing in that new field. Enjoying the journey, starts with making decisions from the heart at the beginning of the journey, as opposed to making decisions to (say) please others or some other external reason. Plus we learn best when we are enjoying the material we are learning.
