If your internship is not going the way that you'd like, that doesn't mean that you aren't a good fit for the company. It just might meant that you are not a good fit for the role/department that your internship is in. Continue to give your project everything you have, and begin to network internally to understand what other opportunities exist in the company. You may still find an offer is waiting for you at the end of the internship experience. If you have a good leader, they will help you in networking and finding the best appropriate fit for you if they see your potential outside your short term project.
