En mis 10+ a?os como mentor, he subido mis tarifas cada a?o porque aporto más valor y mis clientes logran mejores resultados. Es clave elegir un mercado que valore tu oferta y pague por ella. My brand isn't for me but my audience, so why not won't I work with something comfortable for them.. But if you are unable to do so then you need to review your pricing strategy. Deep discount will also not help in long run rather put a question mark on business sustainability. So need to have a balance between value proposition of the offer, reasonable pricing and better customer experience.

The best way to convince someone about your rate is to demonstrate what they will be getting in return for your services. One way of achieving this goal is figuring out a range of expected economic benefit from your services and making most of your rate contingent to reaching those goals. To make it interesting you can include a rate premium if the benefit exceed the expected range. In some cases you can propose a structure based on a variable rate based on the full realization of benefits. I personally love consultants that are willing to have skin on the game. From the company perspective make sure to put a cap on maximum fee in case you achieve extraordinary results as a result of the consultant work or market conditions.

Personally I’d put “Value Articulation” as #1 ahead of a rate review. Clearly, you need to know the market and ensure that you are competitive but if you are not attracting interest that is not price alone. If the value articulation is right you’d at least find yourself in price negotiations. And you may need to be flexible and engage in those negotiations. However, if you’re not getting your that point it is either a marketing issues or a value proposition issue; not price. Marketing, because potentially you’re not getting your message to the right potential clients. Value proposition because I when they get your message they are not seeing Why You. Reducing your prices will not ‘fix’ either of the above.
