Shout it out! Everyone needs to hear that they've done a good job. I've utilized newsletters and social media in the past. Something else to consider would be partnering with nonprofit magazines or family centered magazines who will publish spotlights for nominated employees. I think the sentiment conveys that not only do we value you but we want the community to know the change makers we have on our team.

One of the simplest manners of celebration is to have a good meal together and recognise and thank the team for the good work. It need not be a costly five-star hotel, but a decent and well-recognised place which is well accepted by all staff. In most organisations community outreach teams never get recognised for their hard work. Of course, there could be other ways of recognition as well.

When I led a marketing/outreach team, i’d spread what I call “good gossip” which consisted of positive feedback I hear from teammates regarding others. I’d actively listen and share this with the teammate being discussed. By consistently listening and taking note of compliments, I would relay this recognition through emails or calls. For example, I might say to Bob: “Yesterday, Meara praised your support and professionalism at our last event, noting your exceptional business acumen. I just wanted to share this with you.” Including the appreciator in the communication also helped to strengthen team connections. This practice of “good gossip” requires attentive listening and seizing every chance to highlight and celebrate the team’s efforts

Use of Referring Method where by an individual who is well performing is referred to for guidance, wisdom, example and many more ideas in that area of service in the community, this act of referring to the well performers boosts morale to work at the same time gives room for people to equip and train others in some skills they do best. .
