I would consider carpet tiles and make a pro and cons list: A definite pro would be a soft underfoot, noise-absorbing, and available in various colors. Prone to wear and staining in high-traffic areas would be a con. So a logical reasoning would say that while carpet tiles do provide comfort, their durability and maintenance challenges make them less suitable for this scenario. So I probably would choose extremely durable porcelain tiles, resistant to stains, and available in various finishes (wood, stone, etc.) The longevity, minimal upkeep, and design versatility align with practical needs.
