So all the steps that are listed as part of this session are critically important. It’s important to get feedback & make sure you’re on the right path but increasingly the power of a robust network pops out as critical! One of my favorite terms is the “serial networker”. The person who is constantly networking with people in their immediate circle & also those who go outside to look to learn & for opportunities. It’s amazing how often these networks offer individuals new opportunities that they never knew existed. When I retired from healthcare, I became involved in a venture capital fund where we spend the bulk of our time, networking with companies,advisors & investors. In a very short time, accessed network of people around the world.

One of the hard things about careers, is how to judge if your career path is temporarily stalled or at its end. I have known colleagues who jumped to different careers too quickly in pursuit of more money and a better title. While these were initially tempting, many found themselves making a move only to soon realize they are now stalled in a different career and no way to get back to their original goals. Couple things are key: 1. Seek the console of your peers, boss, and other senior leaders whose opinion you value. 2. Focus on your passion and purpose and let that help guide your career decisions. 3. Always remember, it’s never too late to pivot and head done a different path. 4. We will always be incomplete leaders.

Reassess my goals. Analysis the causes of not being achievable. Seek for feedback from other colleagues. Set a clear SMART goals. Set schedules for each goal. Monitor my progress. Adapt when there is need.
