There is a notion, especially in India that knowing a software is the same as knowing machine design. If someone is building his/her career in CAD, he/she should be very much fluent in almost all subjects pertaining to whatever he/she is designing. Sometimes focusing on a niche area can leave us mentally exhausted and it’s good to give ourselves a break. This has certainly helped me after completing my PhD. Learning my how to use an alternative CAD software will also be useful and jointing online communities.

Sometimes, a break from your CAD career can help you recharge and gain perspective. Take time off to relax, recharge, and pursue other interests or hobbies. Use this time to reflect on your career goals, priorities, and aspirations. Taking a break can alleviate burnout, reduce stress, and rejuvenate your motivation to pursue your CAD career with renewed energy and focus.

Don't do CAD to begin with. You need to provide more than just CAD, maybe CAD + Simulation or CAD + Optimization. That's how you stand out in an over-saturated market where everyone is trying to undercut each other.
